“It’s because you’re still a virgin that you’re so upset.”

Banish any lingering doubts you might have about the power of a blog for you see, it is a blog—specifically my horror blog Final Girl—that brought Scream for Help (1984) into my life. One obviously well-cultured Final Girl reader called this film a favorite during SHOCKtober a few years ago and now I call it a favorite as well. It is 100% pure lunacy, a tornado of absolute WTFery that will change your life! (That might not be a joke.) Scream for Help writer Tom Holland hated what director Michael Winner did with his script; on the one hand, this led to Tom Holland directing Fright Night (1985) himself so his vision for it would make it to the screen. On the other hand, Tom Holland is wrong about Scream for Help. It’s perfect!

To add to the nutso vibes this week, The Sentinel (1977) is also on the docket. It’s another Michael Winner trashterpiece, chock-a-block full of Hollywood stars, Satanigans, and bizarre happenings that you will never be able to understand. I love it.

I couldn’t ask for a better premiere guest on the show than Andrea Subissati, the affable and ever-insightful editor of Rue Morgue magazine and co-host of The Faculty of Horror podcast.

Don your leotard, hop on your bike, and join us for this very VERY special double feature…just watch out for baby carriages! And spiders!

Check out all things Andrea Subissati:
