“We were really close before the killing.”

There is nothing quite like 1993’s Doppelganger. It’s a 90s-to-the-core thriller with a touch of (uncomfortable) erotic pizazz that ultimately becomes a batshit insane body horror film that is the best kind of nonsense: nonsense that thinks it has something to say! It’s so much fun, it’s full of surprises, and the sort of movie I want to make everybody watch. Since I can’t airdrop copies of it to every house in the world, I do the next best thing (I talk about it on a podcast). Give yourself a treat and see it! And listen to the show!

Drew in 1985, just a 10-year-old enjoying some cigs. It’s wild how much of her life story happened in the public eye? And everyone just…watched?

Her 1990 memoir Little Girl Lost, which I mentioned in this episode, is available to read at Internet Archive!
